This is high desert country surrounded by the mountains of CAHwy395, near Lee Vining, CA. There's miles and miles of sage and clusters of cottonwoods, that our yellow lab loves to run through. The golden green cottonwoods of an early Fall, are a beautiful compliment to the colors of sage. Once in awhile, the deer or jackrabbits are jumping high over the bushes, when making their way to the stream. This is the country of a flat desert valley, surrounded by very high peaked mountains, with a highway running through. The flat land causes the wind to whip through the flat land with nothing to block it. The branches bend and break with the wind, causing the tree to eventually stay bent in place. A tree falls, but another young one takes it's place.
